Once you arrive at the Bandaranaike International airport (CMB) (at 0600), our chauffer will await you at the arrival lounge to welcome you. There will be a comfortable A/C van to pick you up and since it is very early morning and the check-in time is at 01:00pm, you will be going to Dambulla. On the way we would be visiting the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, which would take 3 -4 hours to reach and you could see a vast number of elephants and how they are bathed and fed.
Then after you will check-In Sigiriya Oak Ray Elephant Lake Hotel where you could chill down for a bit and go for an evening stroll to climb the Sigiriya Rock, also known as the Lion Rock. It would be a beautiful sight to see the atmosphere and the whole Dambulla area going into the sunset on top of this magnificent rock palace.
You will stay the night in Dambulla and have a goodnight sleep.
Next day morning we will start our journey towards Kandy which is a place of great religious and cultural significance to Sri Lanka. On the way we would be going to the Spice Garden in Kandy, Kandy National Museum Visit, Gem Factory Visit, a cultural dance show and fire eating and fire walking performance in Kandy Lake Club. Then we would finish it off in the evening by Checking – In to the Hotel.
On this day we are going to experience the most religious place in Sri Lanka, The Temple of the tooth. One thing to be noted that correct attire should be worn, legs should be covered, and so long trousers for men and ladies skirts should come well below the knee.
After spending few hours at the temple we will be back to the road once again, but this you will never forget this ride as you will be mesmerized by breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains, waterfalls and greenery surrounded by hills and tea plantations on the way to the town of Nuwara Eliya
On the way we can visit the famous “little England” which is the city tour in Nuwara Eliya. You will visit the main attractions of the town which include the golf course, boating, fishing and water sports on Lake Gregory. You can also visit a tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea. You can also add Seetha Eliya and Haggala Botanical Gardens. Seetha Eliya also known as Seetha Amman Kovil is a kovil which was mentioned in the famous epic Ramayana.
After all that, check in to the hotel where you can relax yourselves in the midst of the coolest whether in Sri Lanka.
We would have to wake up very early in the morning to go on a trek through the Horton plains to see the beauty of nature and wild life and going early in the morning and witnessing all this is of course a sight for sore eyes.
We will finish that and head straight to Yala which has the most of wild life and a wild life park to experience for the next day. After the trekking and travelling from Nuwara Eliya, we could have a chilled out and goodnight sleep in Yala and get ready for the safari ride the next day.
This is the day of the safari through the Yala national park. You would get to witness many animals in this huge park. This will take up most of the day. According to the time, we could see if we have time to chill down or else we would straightaway travel to Mirissa, where the beaches are beautiful and you could just chill in the evening.
After the Safari, we will leave to Mirissa, where you can spend your night over there but you would need to sleep early as you will have to wake up very early so that you would not miss watching whales in the sea.
Early Morning at 06:00am, the whale watching tour will start where you would be taken atop a boat into the deep sea to watch different types of whales and dolphins. You would then go scuba diving along the shallow areas of the sea and this would make an unforgettable experience to everyone. We would try out some water sports activities too like banana boating, Jet Ski rides, etc.
After that we will go to the Galle Fort in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, which was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument
By evening, you would be heading to Colombo, where you could stay in your hotel or do some city sight-seeing, shopping, etc. and experience the night life in areas of Colombo.
On this day, we could do some more shopping or sight-seeing after checking out from Hotel, or we could head to Negombo in the afternoon after checkout as this is the last night you would be spending and Negombo has a nice beach where you could just enjoy an evening off before heading back to your home country the next day.
We could arrange a small city tour of Negombo in the evening if required.
You can use the van to go inside Negombo if needed and only if there is enough time before your departure flight.
After 8 days we have come to an end. Though it is an end it will be a new experience for you to take back to your home country. After all that when you are ready to check out from the hotel we can proceed to the airport for the departure flight.
